Packing... again. How many suitcases can you fit your life in?

Packing day... again. Last week we packed and unpacked, re-packed, re-packed again, and then packed some real bags to GO!  We laid out all the stuff that we have thought we wanted to take to Indo. What will all the stuff I still own look like spread across the empty floor? It really made me see what I think is important enough to bring: books, clothes, games, and legos. Vanilla flavoring? An avocado peeler?

My biggest fear was, and still is, this: what if it does not fit? What will I leave and how would I decide? How many legos can I squeeze in and still be under 50 pounds?

The other day I let the boys get out their old, but not forgotten, light sabers.  They were so happy and they became instant best friends (with the light saber as well as with their brothers). I wondered whether I have the heart to make them part with these and not allow them to play with their light sabers in Indonesia. When we return the older one that was playing will probably not be interested anymore, and then the younger one will think he should not play with it. What would a house be without an occasional or daily light saber dual?

Then to top off all those emotions yesterday they played "protect the princess." Ella excitedly agreed to be the princess, and then the boys would have her stand clear while they fought off the "bad guys." It was so great to watch everyone play their role. and there was no fighting until the princess wanted to defend herself with her own weapon. Oh, it was fun to watch while it lasted.

So back to packing... how many suitcases will my family's life fit into? Put your guess in a comment below - winners are welcome to come with us to Indo and help carry them all. I'll let you know soon, although the packing never seems to end. We also posted a poll: vote here for the number of pounds of legos you think we'll take to Indonesia.
