I just found out about this opportunity to have our kids tested while living overseas!  I'm excited to share this with you becasue for many of us we do not have a way to do this without leaving the city we live in.  Below is the information you need to have your kids tested overseas.

Science - not my favorite subject to teach. I’ve tried many programs, schedules, and books, but somehow it always seems to have the same results: failure to excite and motivate myself or my children. I’m happy to review an exciting product that is online and will excite you and your children to learn science no matter where you live. It’s called Supercharged Science (http://www.sciencelearningspace.com). I was able to review the K-12 e-science online learning program found here: http://www.sciencelearningspace.com/getting-started/

I know we homeschool our children overseas, but the challenges aren't only about location but about culture. Our kids are TCK's (or Third Culture Kids). This brings more variables into our school days and into our children's lives. I've been struck recently on how this whole state of living is effecting my kids. I want to only see the good, only how much they've grown or overcome during their time overseas.

I... can-do-ANYthing... it's Reading Rainbow. Do you remember the song? If you don't you'll learn it quickly if you check out this iPad app. Sing with me!

This Christmas was exciting for us. It was our second Christmas overseas and we were able to really celebrate and enjoy it, especially compared to our first Christmas away. For the annual kids' gift exchange at the Christmas Eve party, my friend asked for some ideas. Sometimes it’s just so hard to come up with ideas here, but somehow I thought of a sewing kit. My friend loved the idea and was off to shop.

This month I’m excited to bring you another review of a super website created by the Old Schoolhouse Magazine (www.TheHomeschoolMagazine.com). This site has the potential to provide lots of online resources for families homeschooling overseas. The site is called Schoolhouse Teachers and is found at www.SchoolhouseTeachers.com.

I thought this year I would share some of my favorite Christmas projects that we have done. We have some that we do each year and I tried to add a few new ones as well. Some are faster than others but all will be super cute and can quickly fill your walls with holiday cheer.  Happy Christmas art making - I love this time of year!

This month I'm squeezing two reviews into one. What a bonus! If you have never visited the Homeschool Buyers Co-op then you are missing out. They have some amazing deals. They find all sorts of great products and sell them at a discount. Usually they need a certain number of people to buy the specific product and the more people who buy the bigger the discount. Many products are products that are normally only offered to schools,

August 2011 was when we started school for the first time overseas. We had moved in April but needed to just try to adjust to so many new things that we had not done any school (except start learning a new language!) for almost 5 months. It was hard to begin again and I was afraid I couldn't really pull all this off overseas. I needed something to help us all jump in and start the school year well, so I looked to one of my favorite subjects, art, to help us with that.
